254.6: Grumpiness vs. Happines

I am fighting the PMS grumps today. Hair looks bad; stringy and flat. Glasses are buggin'. Clothes are touching me in too many places. I'm hot, I'm cold, it's muggy in the training room so I'm not attending the rehearsals. Whine, whine, whine.

Food? Well I polished off a jar of peanut butter and ate a half a can of wasabi almonds last night--finished the almonds on the way to work. That's a measly 1200 calories of nuts. ARGH!

I've smiled at myself in the mirror. My cubicle buddy Tyler gave me a smiley face on a post-it note. Rick told me my hair looks fine.

I am responsible for the energy I bring with me today. I need positive energy myself.

I choose to be happy.

I think.

  1. ARGH! I totally feel your pain! I have had the mantra that "I choose to be delightful" lately. Here is my smiley face to you :) I have always loved your happiness and how you share it with others. I always KNEW that you cared for me and about my life. I never had to guess. You are the best aunt!

  2. My sweet friend, We all have some off days, and I know it's hard to be happy all the time. I'm sending you some good vibes and happy thoughts so that your tomorrow will be full of rainbows and lollipops. :-) Hugs my friend

  3. We must have mentally planned to have our bad day at the same time because that was me yesterday too! :) Sometimes it is just SO fun being a woman(...said no woman ever going through PMS). I hope your day today was better because a wonderful lady like you deserves it. Love you!

  5. Oh, Bonnie--the "I think" at the end was just so classic. I can so relate to this post, and to these feelings. It's just not always easy being happy, ya know? Especially when your hair/glasses/clothes are buggin'! ("Buggin'" made me smile when I read it, by the way, because it's a Bonnie word that I'd forgotten was a Bonnie word, and reading it/hearing it in my head in your voice felt like good, good ol' times. I so miss you!)

I'm proud of you for recognizing the grumps and trying to replace them with . . . the happs? The happiness happs? Yeah, I'm gonna go with that. ;) I'm doing my best to stay happy too . . . every day is a new one, right? :)

    Love ya, Bonnie!
